Things To Do - Tooting Broadway
Tooting is the home of fabulous curries, the largest Lido in the city and one of the best indoor markets going. Help us make your plans to visit Zone 3 with this pre-planned outing, there are plenty of things to do.
TRAVEL TO TOOTING BROADWAY
You will either love the hustle and bustle of Tooting Broadway or want to quickly head on up to the quieter surrounds of Tooting Bec. Personally, we love the buzz and want you to experience it too. The first thing to go and see is the emerging street art scene outside the markets.
TOOTING'S EMERGING STREET ART SCENE
Before you expect the world, the Tooting street art scene is no Shoreditch or Brick Lane, there are no pieces by Banksy or Stik here... yet. There are two spots that we know about worth a look - Totterdown Street and the car park between Broadway Market and Tooting Market.
TRAMBLE IN TOOTING
Our Tooting Broadway Tramble starts at the King George Statue outside the tube station along the busy Mitcham Road and on up into Tooting Common.
The common is the perfect place for a break with a picnic or a couple of drinks. If the weather is kind head to the Tooting Lido with your swimming gear and take a dip in 100 yard long pool.
Once you have dried off continue the Tramble back to Tooting Broadway and dive into Tooting Market for the beginning of the bar/food crawl.
tooting market crawl
Start off at the fabulous Unwined (16A, Tooting Market, 21-23 Tooting High St, London SW17 0SN | 020 3286 4631 | Website) in Tooting Market. The friendly team will talk you through the tapas style menu with a tasty wine to match. Have a starter and a glass of wine before moving on down the market.
Your second stop should be the local gin distillery at Graveney's Gin (21-23 Tooting High St, London SW17 0SN | 07398 531795 | Website). It occupies a small space in the market but is the perfect stop off on our market tour.
Walk around Tooting Market and choose one of the places to eat. There are plenty of options ranging from Franco Manca (11b, Tooting Market, 21-23 Tooting High St, London SW17 0SN | 020 3026 5625 | Website)
to The Joint (21-23 Tooting High St, London SW17 0SN | Website) and a newly opened Koi Ramen Bar (21-23 Tooting High St SW17 0SN | Website). If none of these options take your fancy head out and across to Broadway Market where there are other options available to you. back on the bar crawl
Broadway Market has three great spots to continue the bar crawl depending on your favourite tipple.
