We love saying the word Wapping. And we are sure you will too. Wapping. Wonderful Wapping. The Wharves of Wapping.
Ever visited Wapping? There is a rich history there and we bring it to you with our Wapping Tramble.
the wharves of wapping
As soon as you step into Wapping you will be taken about by the number of Wharves. Wharf after wharf converted into flats. If you are anything like us you will also be visiting the local estate agent to try and get a glimpse inside.
Walk down the riverbank (or as close to it as possible) nipping into the routes to sea. Execution Dock and the Old Stairs are two to look out for.
tobacco dock and the canals
We would recommend continuing towards the King Edward VII Memorial Park before doubling back to join the canal at the Shadwell Basin. Walk through the canal along to Tobacco Dock before you rejoin the main stretch of the Thames.
The Prospect of Whitby
Once you have walked along the canal you will come back to the banks of the Thames with excellent views across and back towards Tower Bridge.
Come back into Wapping and find the historic Prospect of Whitby for a real ale or some pub grub.
